AUTHORITY FOR HEALING

The bible tells us that we are to go and heal the sick.  The bible also tells us that if he calls us to do it he will see that it is done. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it  1 Thessalonians 5: 24

The bible tells us that we are to go and heal the sick. From this one would conclude that God wants the sick healed. The bible also tells us that if he calls us to do it he will see that it is done. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it  1 Thessalonians 5: 24

1. Sickness is a result of Sin and Satin:
God created man with perfect bodies. Then sin and Satin (the evil one) entered the world. As one result of this we have sickness. But if sickness has its origin in "the Fall of Man" when sin entered into our existence and from the evil one, then we have authority over it. (Luke 10:19 NIV) I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

At the very heart of God is the desire to give and forgive. (Rom 8:1,2 NIV) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death

As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. (John 9:1-3 NIV)

2. It is God's will that His People are healthy: There are many passages in the Bible that teach this:

3. God can heal but will He? The theological problem "If you are willing, are you able?" It is the uncertainty about God's will to heal that plagues man. There is no doubt that God has the power, but does he have the will?

In (Luke 5:12 NIV) While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." The leper was saying "Lord, I am uncertain if you wish to heal me, (but) you have the ability to cleanse me."

That it is God' will to heal can be seen from Jesus Response. (Luke 5:13 NIV) Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" And immediately the leprosy left him

4. Imitate God: We know that it is God's will that we have health and that He will heal us. Then we should imitate Him and participate in the healing . (Eph 5:1,2 NIV) Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

5. God has delegated His Authority to His People: God gave His Son to save us from sin, and to save us also from the effects of sin - one of which is sickness, which defiles bodies made for a dwelling place of the All Highest.

God is the fountainhead of Healing Love, Jesus the Christ is the administrator of the Healing Grace, and the Holy Spirit is the power of God manifesting in our bodies and filling us with the abundant life of Christ.

God has all authority over the Earth. God gave Jesus His authority and Jesus has given that authority to us .  And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, If Jesus sits at His right had and we are seated with him then we are at His right hand. (Eph 2:6 NIV)

6. Christ, our savior and example, commands us to heal. James 5:

7. Let us be Imitators of Christ . Let us boldly glorify God by demonstrating his Holy Power!

The Bible says that signs and wonders shall follow belief and they will definitely not be given simply so that a skeptics should see and believe.

Jesus healed all the sick who came to him in faith believing; and as He is the same today and forever, that healing power is still available to those (us) who will believe .

God is always glorified by healing . We must be most grateful to Him for such.

Healing is controversial and it will always be controversial. Jesus, our Lord, was a controversial healer. We can expect that when we begin to do what Jesus did, rather than just talk about what he talked about, we will be controversial too.
